01 Definition
Hit rate (also called win rate or strike rate) measures the proportion of winning bets versus total bets. It's expressed as a percentage: (Wins ÷ Total Bets) × 100. A hit rate of 71% means 71 out of every 100 bets win.
02 Example
If a tipster sends 100 signals and 71 of them win, the hit rate is 71%. However, hit rate alone doesn't determine profitability — you need to consider it alongside average odds and staking strategy.
03 Why It Matters
Hit rate is the most visible metric for tipster subscribers, but it can be misleading. A high hit rate at very low odds (1.10-1.20) may still lose money due to the occasional loss wiping out many small wins. Always evaluate hit rate alongside ROI and average odds.
